How to Choose an Invisalign Dentist
Use this checklist to find your ideal Invisalign dentist!
So you’ve decided to go with Invisalign – congrats! The next big question is whom should you entrust your smile to. Find your match with these four quick checks that we recommend.
This is really important because a dentist can only be an Invisalign provider if he or she has completed the training course by its creator, Align Technology. Once accredited, dentists are further classified into ten tier levels: Bronze, Silver, Gold I, Gold II, Platinum, Platinum Elite, Diamond, Black Diamond, Blue Diamond, Red Diamond – with the last being the highest possible level. A dentist’s tier reflects the number of Invisalign cases he or she has handled, so this is a great way to gauge your dentist’s experience.
Pro Tip: Dental clinics that have been certified as ‘Invisalign Dedicated Clinics’ mean their experience, expertise and patient care standards have been green-lighted by Align Technology, so you can expect professional service. These clinics are also likely to be equipped with the right dental technology (think: accuracy, convenience and comfort), which is a huge plus in our books!
Good things speak for themselves! It’s always a good idea to run a quick reputation check by searching online (there are plenty of forums where people openly share their experiences) or asking your friends, family and colleagues about their experiences. Chances are, a reputable Invisalign provider, especially one who has handled many cases, would have made an impression on people.
Let’s get practical. Broadly speaking, you’ll be making a trip to the dental clinic every six to eight weeks. You’ll want a clinic that is accessible — one that is near your home or office, or well served by public transportation. A clinic with multiple branches can also be a good choice, since that gives you flexibility in arranging your appointments at different locations. This is, of course, dependent on your dentist’s schedule but just having that option is a plus, if you ask us.
4. Operating Hours
This may seem like a petty detail but we can’t stress how essential it is to check a dental clinic’s operating hours before committing to Invisalign with them! If you keep office hours, make sure that the clinic offers evening and weekend appointments because the last thing you want is to have to take leave every time you need to get your teeth checked.
Finding Your Invisalign Dentist
These four quick checks should leave you with a shortlist of Invisalign providers. The right Invisalign dentist should make you feel comfortable and confident about speaking openly and freely, so meet them and be the judge of that!
